Rhythmic Gymnastics

Gymnastics Energy has a new and expanding Rhythmic Gymnastics program!

What is Rhythmic Gymnastics?

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a discipline of women’s gymnastics that combines grace, coordination, flexibility, agility, and artistry. Routines are performed to music in a group or individually. Rather than performing on different events, all routines are performed on a carpeted floor using one of the 5 hand apparatus. The apparatus used are rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon. The apparatus is manipulated while performing turns, pivots, dance steps, leaps, holds, balances, and acrobatics. Rhythmic gymnastics is the perfect sport for those who love dance and acrobatics as well as expressing themselves to music.

We currently offer two classes:

Girls Rhythmic (6yrs+)

Girls Rhythmic is focused on coordination, agility, flexibility, dance, balance, and most of all having fun. Your gymnast will learn the basic skills of rhythmic gymnastics by gaining experience with apparatus such as ribbons, balls, hoops, ropes, flags and scarves, while moving to various types of music.

Kinder Rhythmic (3-5yrs)

Your little one will experience a fun introduction to the sport while beginning to learn the basics. Child sized, colourful apparatus are used to teach movement patterns, coordination, balance, and rhythm; all to different types of music.

Both of our classes perform routines twice annually in our Gymnastradas.
